Pre impregnated material is a resin based/reinforced material combination made by impregnating continuous fibers, fabrics, and short cut fibers with a resin matrix under certain conditions. It is a material form for manufacturing advanced composite components. Thermosetting resin undergoes a chemical reaction to cure at high temperatures, transforming the prepreg into a high-performance solid structural material (i.e. thermosetting resin based composite materials). This material is lightweight, high-strength, durable, and resistant to high temperatures with good rigidity.
At present, prepreg has been used in the main structure of large commercial aircraft, and its usage on Airbus A350 and Boeing B787 accounts for more than 50% of the aircraft's structural weight. The application of pre impregnated materials is not only rapidly developing in aerospace, but also increasing in industries such as wind energy, automobiles, sports equipment, and industrial machinery.
Now, we will introduce the process of A&E prepreg production line:
01 Resin blending
Resin blending is the first step in the prepreg production line. The quality of the resin plays a decisive role in the performance of the prepreg. Therefore, A&E places great emphasis on scientific formulation and optimization of parameters. Through a digital resin formulation system, key parameters such as temperature, stirring speed, and mixing time of the resin are precisely controlled to ensure uniform and compliant resin mixing.
02 resin coating
After resin blending, the prepreg enters the resin coating process. Our pre impregnation line adopts advanced CNC resin coating machine, and through high-precision spraying technology, the pre prepared resin is evenly coated on the fiber substrate. By using an intelligent control system to precisely adjust parameters such as spray pressure and nozzle spacing, it ensures that the resin evenly covers each fiber and controls the consistency of coating thickness.
In addition, A&E's high-precision resin coating machine adopts a new and improved dot roller technology, which has higher coating accuracy for high toughness resins. The machine is equipped with an infrared testing probe, which can monitor and adjust the coating thickness in real-time online.
03 Fiber immersion process
After the resin coating is completed, the prepreg enters the fiber impregnation process. In this process, the prepreg fiber substrate is air dried and cured through infrared heating equipment, allowing the resin to completely cure on the fibers and achieve product shaping.
We conduct strict quality testing on each batch of prepreg products produced to ensure that they meet relevant standards and requirements, including mechanical properties, physical properties, and appearance quality. We are committed to providing customers with high-quality prepreg products.
Zhongshan Rongnan currently has over 80 types of prepreg specifications. Our prepreg line process, with its highly automated and digital features, achieves high efficiency and stability in production, ensuring product consistency and quality, and providing a reliable foundation for the production and application of high-end composite materials.
In the future, A&E will continue to leverage the power of technology to continuously promote the innovative development of prepreg production lines. With the promotion of digital intelligent manufacturing, it will provide customers with higher quality products and services, and help the development of the high-end composite materials industry.
